Roach Control is one of the primary services that are requested by our clients. 

Out of the thousands of species of cockroach, only a few cause pest problems for humans. The German and American roaches are the most prominent due to their habits of feeding and breeding in unsanitary places such as garbage and sewage areas where they may acquire, carry and disseminate bacteria and viruses. And the droppings of German cockroaches in moderate to heavy infestations have been known to cause asthmatic reactions in people, as well as have a very unpleasant odor.

Other roaches such as the Smokey Brown roach (AKA: Palmetto Bug, Water Bug) tend to spend most of their time outside but may come in due to changes in temperature or moist conditions in the home. Their size and ability to fly make them unwelcome guests.

Because each species is different, each one has its own unique way of being exterminated. You cannot treat for German roaches the same way you treat for Smokey Brown roaches. With all of the sprays, dusts, baits, and motels on the store shelves, many people attempt to take care of roaches themselves. They are often unsuccessful due to either a misidentification of the species of cockroach, misuse of the pesticide, or lack of understanding of the reason the infestation occurred.

One of the more common pesticides on the market, total release foggers, will only kill a small percentage of the roaches and cause the rest to scatter throughout the dwelling, sending them into wall voids, kitchen appliances, light fixtures, or neighboring units. This makes a pest control professional’s job even harder to get them under control as they slowly start reemerging from those areas.
